Cyberpine I think it has to do with the tread pattern and tire they decide on. I know that I for a fact can fit a 305 STREET tire because they don't have the side lugs and I can probably fit a 285 MUD tire with side lugs stock. And dodge is doing a pretty good job fitting big tires, 37" tires with just a 4" lift. What other brand can do that? Most brands it takes 6"+ to do that

LOL, cyberpine you should get a trophy for the most posts on a single topic.
You started with the same Question back in March 2010 and most of your 176 posts just keep repeating the same thing.

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=50395

Your second most popular topic is complaining about poor gas mileage...which will drop significantly when you finally do get your larger tires.

Hope you find what you're looking for soon
I was lucky and got mine right within a month and will get the same again when its time to replace my Nitto's.
I had spacers handy if I needed them, but my shop refused to use them for legal reasons...lucky for me they were not required.

I've had 305/50R20 (12.2" x 32.2") Terra Grapplers on my stock 20"x9" wheels (+19 offset) for over a year now. No spacers, no level or lift....in fact my 10' RCSB 4x4 is dropped 2/3.
In my experience its best to tuck the tire in as close as possible without rubbing, sticking tires out way beyond the fender just looks too redneck to me on a non-lifted truck, specially a 2wd.
a more negative offset may clear the suspension components better, but you risk damaging the corners of your fenders near the door and near the bumper when you do it without a significant lift.

upper A arm clearance

sway bar clearance at full steering lock

the fact that Discount Tire and Les Schwab Tires won't even touch a vehicle with spacers on it is enough of a red flag for me. in addition to that, if you start searching the net you'll find enough horror stories to turn you off from the idea. of course i could probably find horror stories about gummy bears on the net...so take that for what it's worth.
