Default Put my Goat to use last night

well several friends and i went out to a local caliche pit (sorry if spelled wrong) last night. we went out there to have what they called a bonfire, basically just a large campfire, not bonfire quality but anywhoo... we sat around drinking for a while. found out that those wood pallets burn really hot but last only 20 mins or so apiece. when we were halfway through the stash brought, 2 of the guys decided to go driving around the pit looking for wood. they found a dirtbike/atv trail and took a s10 blazer around it. one point was a steeeep i would say 50 degree hill. took several tries for their 2wd blazer to make it. they came back later with a small tree dragging on a chain lol.

i had been watching them try the hill so i figured what the hell i wanted to test my ram out a lil. i dropped it in 4 low and crawled right up it. scrapped a lil where it tried to high center, forgot to take my 2 inch drop hitch off which scrapped some too. the other guy with a vehicle there decided to go in his 2wd 90 something f150. he made it. we all went back to the fire and sat around for a while.

i guess it was one of those "hey, hold my beer" moments, the guy in the f150 decided to do it again. this time he got high centered really good at the top. so bad that the front tires were off ground 2-3 inches and backs at first were touching, but trying unsucesfully to rock it, dug out where no wheels were touching. at first the blazer tried to pull him out. that wasnt going to happen. i brought beast back up and chained on, but the loose dirt was making me dig ruts. the ford's owner told me to just push him off backwards... HELL NO. i wasnt going to push him with my upper tailgate to his steel bumper. we tried one more time with a couple guys bouncing the rear of the stuck ford. with the bouncing and me trying a little angled pull, we slowly pulled him off the crest back onto his own wheels.

i was glad i had went out there, the pits are about 20 miles west of town. we only had the 3 trucks there. if i had of missed it like i had originally planed they would have had to drive back to town to get someone elses truck to help.

other than being bouncy as hell, the ram never gave any problems going through the trails out there. lol the girls that were riding with me did not want to participate in any of the wheeling. when we decided to leave i (partial truth) did not know the exact way out and took the wrong trail out which led to another similar hill just maybe 30 degree. they got a lil wheelin in that night too mwhahaha. hell i took that hill in 2wd with no problem.

well sorry bout such a long story, but i figured one that a ram helped a ford in need would fit in well here. i did not have a camera with me at the time, ill see if i can get my friend to send me any pics he took of the hi-centered ford.

Thanks for the story! It sounds like a good time. I love going offroading in my Ram, but sometimes things don't go as planned lol.
