Default Stock single exhaust to magnaflow dual

I have a 2005 SLT 5.7 with a single side exit exhaust. I want to change it to dual rear exhaust. Magnaflow has model number 15863 and the price is good. Will it fit no problems, as in hanger bracket locations. Thanks.

You'll have to weld in some hooks for hangers on the side that doesn't have a tailpipe and muffler on it now but that will fit. Just get a good shop for the install.

yes there should be no issues but get some qualified installers so you don't have any leaks.

I was afraid of that. I was planning on installing myself. Was there any 2005's with dual rear exhaust?

Factory supported duals started in 2009. I had a setup similar to what you have planed on my 2006 and loved it. The sound was awesome and the only issue I had long term was the installer welded one of the new support brackets in the wrong place and that side kept braking loose. Got it fixed by having a new support put in. So go pro to keep it going for a long time.

Just reading the install sheet and Magnaflow apparently includes a hanger that needs a hole drilled in the frame for install. So perhaps all is not lost! Didn't like the idea of a $1000 exhaust system! Any idea if there is a noticable mpg gain or is it just for sound?

There won't be any noticeable increase in mileage, it will just change the sound of it.. My experience is that once you change the muffler to something more aggressive sounding your mileage will decrease as you'll have your foot in it more wanting to hear the new exhaust note.

I installed this exact system on my 05 hemi. I later took it off and it still sits in my garage. It bolted up perfectly and you don't have to drill anything, it comes with the extra hanger for the drivers side which bolt right up through an existing hole in the frame.I installed it myself in like 2-3 hrs, no welding and it never leaked. It sounds awesome but the wifey hated it when we went on long trip as she thought it was too loud. I know I'm whipped huh,, happy wife=happy life...lol.. anyway I would love to sell it, I paid like 600 or so for the complete catback system and would let it go super cheap, its the shipping that will suck.. let me know..it was on the truck for about 9 months..

I can get it up here for a little more than your original purchase price and yeah I'm sure the shipping would be astronomical. Thanks for the info it certainly helps.
