Default Winter grille cover

Know it is kind of late for this year, but have been noticing a lot of Ram's in my area with grille covers.

Questions.

1. Are they only for diesel engines, or can you run a regular gasoline engine with them on? Can you damage the engine if you do with a gasoline engine? Overheat maybe?

2. I know cardboard or plexiglass will work as well but prefer a more finished look. Any recomendations on types or manufacturers? Any suggestions on where to buy them?

Tks

These are for Diesels as they have a tougher time warming up and staying warm. If you have a gas engine do not mess with them. Just run the recommended thermostat and you're as good as you can get (engine block heater notwithstanding) They WILL overheat your motor, do not use on a gas engine.

If you in fact have a Diesel, then you probably already know you need a cover in that climate, just like the big rigs.

I run my Ram in below zero weather with no heat issues. Unless you live in a area where 2 to 3 weeks of -40F is not unheard of, then maybe concider doing a cover. BUT NEVER put cardboard against your radiator, as it can create hotspots.

Also you have to vigilant on ensuring the cover is open during warmer weather say 0F and above.

Thinking about: New Wheels, and leveling kit.
