Default &%@$%# water spots!!!!

I have terrible water, the spots didn't show so bad on my forest green dakota... but they look horrible on my flame red ram.

I bought an inline filter (for RV's - drinking water) and it helped a little but I still can't stop these spots.

I wash in a panicked frenzy, immediatly begin to dry and still.... SPOTS

Short of washing my truck at nighttime.... WTF AM I TO DO?

I tried... it didn't

Maybe because I haven't waxed my truck yet?
I've only had it for 3 weeks but I guess I better get a coat of wax on it next weekend.

I haven't been impressed with the paint job so far.

I was standing in the bed washing the roof and the hose quite literally "touched" the fender. It left a scratch...

I would be willing to bet the clear coat on these trucks is super thin.

Just like the plastic rims, they are cutting back everywhere they can, then I pay 35K for a truck that is inferior to the one I bought for 20K 15 years ago.

Clay Bar, Wax, Buff....then move to an area with better water.

Have you taken a cruise through 'Help Zone', 'Dodge Ram Detailing and General Maintenance' ? I have found some real good info in there regarding prepping the paint for that deep shine and protection.

Harley-Davidson sells a product for their bikes that I've also used on my four-wheeled vehicles with good success - it's called Sunwash. Pick up a bottle of that and give it a try.

Well it's really not very practical for me to clay bar the truck once a month.

I'm not looking for spot removal here, I need spot prevention.

Apparently the only method for prevention will be to wash at night...

It comes down to the water. until you get one helluva good coat of wax on there to help bead all the water off your going to have water spots. If you can, get bottled water and get it ice cold, after you rinse the soap off use the bottled water to to give it a "spot free" quick rinse. worked like a charm on my Black vehicles in the summer heat.

That's where the Harley Sunwash comes in. Check out the link to their site:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

"Harley-Davidson® Sunwash® Concentrate has a unique formulated sheeting action that prevents hard water spots and rinses clean even on hot days in the sun."

It's less than $5.00 a bottle. Try it. It's always worked for me.
