Default Hemi Exhaust Sound

Just traded in my '08 4.7L with aftermarket dual exhaust and 5" tips for a 2011 Big Horn Hemi with factory dual exhaust. The stock Hemi exhaust just doesn't sound tuff enough for me. Anyone have any suggestions for improving the sound without modifying the whole exhaust system?

If you'll take a few minutes and read some of the forums there are a bunch of answers for you on that like the mufflex, which is just changing out the muffler. There are a bunch of options,, wasn't trying to be rude, just check out what others are writing to give you some ideas..

Not being rude, Yeah I may be new to this site but this ain't my first rodeo. Spent over an hour looking at different posts but nothing satisfied what I was looking for, so I figured I'd post a new thread to see if any fresh ideas came through. Thanks for making the new guy look like a dick tho...

Get rid of the muffler and put a straight pipe in there instead. Let me know how it sounds becuase I have been thinking of doing that. I currently have a Flowmaster (2 chamber) and had the resignators cut off. It sounds pretty beefy and have even had many compliments on the sound, however I want it to be louder which is why I'm thinking of just getting rid of the muffler altoghether. I have not done a ton of research but my plan is to put an X or H pipe and delete the muffler. Got to do more research first though. Good luck and keep us posted.

Welcome aboard bro, I dont think anyone was tring to make you look like a dick, just pointing out there ane MANY options available and if you look around you will find dozens of sound clips which would be the best way to find what appeals to you as it is a matter of taste, what you like some others may not. the person was just trying to point you in the right direction

Thanks Crash and sorry if I offended you Rebel.... I had no intentions of that. Just trying to let you know there are tons of options and these Hemi's rock. In my opinion they have decent factory dual exhaust and its nice and quiet to boot. I had a nice Magnaflow catback system on my 05 Hemi and it was really too loud to talk on the phone or hear yourself think when pulling a trailer. I was thinking about getting the 24" Mufflex magnaflow muffler because I would like the beefy sound and the quiet all at the same time but the 18" one sounds sweet too. Anyway don't be offended man. Let us know what you think and good luck..

I have listened to a bunch of clips, and the same exhaust setups all sound different. Must be because of the recording devices. I took the advise from my local muffler shop and had a Solo Performance muffler installed. I love the sound, could be a little louder, but it's nice. It also doesn't sound bad when it goes into 4 cyl. mode.

Try a Flow Pro muffler 2 out to the rear with resonator tip. no drone great sound, sounds a lot better than flowmasters or magnaflows
