Default 1996 dodge ram front axle

I like to do a bit of offroading and I was looking at ways to strengthen my front and rear end without swapping to 1-tons (I like to be the odd guy out who does stuff a little differently). I may be getting a used 8" lift for cheap and if I can Im going with 36-37" tall tires, but if I cant get the lift Im possibly looking to go 35-36" tires. So far what I have found that can be done to the front end (witch is what Im most worried about) is this:
Auburn Positraction
yukon ring and pinion gears
and other items U-joints .ect and this:

I know most cant truly answer but even with running this when running 35-37" tires offroad would i just be fighting a losing battle? As I realize its still only a half ton dana 44 front end?

Posi in the front diff is a bad idea. A selectable locker is what you need.

If not a posi then would you suggest like an ox locker, or E-locker, or like an ARB something along the lines of those instead? Also to add to my first post Im not sure if I want to go manual hubs but someone put the idea in my head and I have been throwing around the idea of doing that.
