Post Blue led Dash Light Conversion buying tips on getting the right led

Led lighting is a great inexspensive way to light items and the same thing goes for dash lighting but as a lot of people may know buy now most leds project most of there light within 15 to 30 Degree angle straight out which
causes bad hotspots in dashlighting because the led is set so close to the gauge face Iv found through my uses of leds that the standard leds sold for dash lighting will give a bad hotspot like the 3mm and 5mm difused and non difused led Below Are examples of the two types iv used and through my trial and errors iv found for dashlighting the best led Is The 5050 SMD Led

The SMD Led Lit Up To Show How Much Wider The Bean Is on the smd 5050 which makes the SMD 5050 great for dash Apps
They Make These Bulbs To Replace The T5 B8.5d Dashlights You You Just Have To Find Them Iv Found Them Both On Amazon And Ebay

I replaced all the factory green SMD leds in my Ford Fusion with blue ones, and by far I like that mod the best. I intend on doing the same to my Ram, but dreading the time consuming task. You are right about the "non-diffused" leds. I used one of those to install in my dash clock in my Fusion, and the illumination is poor. The light output is more straight out instead of wide spread. Good info.
