Well that's really good news, thanks! That check engine light thing scares me lol I'm pretty freaked out that I'm gonna screw up the truck cause I have never worked with vehicles. But that's what's great about being a member on this forum; I get to ask all you knowledgeable people all sorts of silly questions before I do something stupid

Ya absolutely no worries for warranty or engine codes by adding a CAI and cat-back exhaust. Where you can can get CEL codes is by adding long tube headers and not turning off the rear O2 sensors with something like a Diablo Predator or Trinity (the program isn't out yet for 2011 RAMs yet).

I got the Mopar CAI on eBay for $378 from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-Dodge-Ram-5-7L-Hemi-CAI-cold-air-intake-MOPAR-/130497555049?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A2009|Model%3ARam+1500&hash=item1e6242 aa69

I will post up some pics shortly to show the Mopar CAI install (did it last week).

I am with you and don't think they made the stock exhaust aggressive enough for the R/T package and am also looking for a new cat-back exhaust. I wanted the Corsa but they only make it for the RAM Quad cab. I had my dealer try to adapt it to the R/T but definitely NO go :-(

Well this is very comforting news! I definitely don't wanna add headers, but I do wanna get the Diablo Predator so I can remove the speed limiter, and maybe tune the engine for a little more horsepower.

Pictures would be great! Also, how difficult was it to install it? And how long did it take?

Just a question on the exhaust, are all aftermarket exhaust systems catback? Because I just want a regular exhaust that's just a tiny bit louder.

Oh, one more question, do you know how much power the Mopar CAI adds?

The Mopar CAI wasn't too bad to install. The instructions are good and it took me about 90 minutes.

For exhaust, there are many options. Cat-Back is just one. A lot of folks do this because it is more of a complete tuned package from the catalysts back (so muffler, pipes and resonators...or no resonators and straight pipes).

Some guys just remove or change out the rear resonators, which is much cheaper. The resonators help to eliminate the interior drone, especially when the MDS kicks in with 4 cylinders running.

I am actually looking to just change out the mid muffler with the Corsa muffler and leave everything else stock.

For extra power, it is minimal. All CAIs don't add too much HP that you can feel per se in the seat of your pants........it shows up more on a dyno around 10 RWHP. Most manufacturers advertise 20+ but that is not RWHP and usually exaggerated to sell more as everyone and his brother sell CAIs. You will definitely hear the increased induction sound from a CAI.

I noticed a crisper throttle response and a little more power, but love the extra induction sound :-) When I get the exhaust improved, the benefits of the Mopar CAI will be more noticeable.

Basically engines are a large air pump, so getting more colder filtered air in is always good for better combustion! Getting the air out is more of a trick, because if you don't have the right amount of back pressure and flow, you can actually feel less power and torque. This is where it is beneficial to have an exhaust that is more "tuned" or designed for the engine, length of the car and other engine modifications, which can squeeze out more power to the rear wheels.

I didn't get a chance to get some pictures today, but will in the next few days.

Wow, your post is very informative! I'm really thankful for all the information. I'm definitely going with the Mopar CAI now. As for exhaust, let me know what you end up getting. I'm assuming I'd be replacing the mid muffler?

Anyways, thanks for all the info, you've been really helpful

Hey no worries........we all learn from each other! I wouldn't rush into anything and enjoy your beautiful truck. For the exhaust, listen to as many audio clips, or better yet someones truck at a meet.

I should have mine sorted out in a month and will post up some sound clips.

Hey I wanted to let you know I ordered and installed the Mufflex 18" muffler package today and love it. It has a nice low rumble at idle yet an angry growl at wide open throttle.

If you want the most aggressive sound, the 14" would be the way to go. On a scale of 1-10, the 18" is a 7 and the 14" is a 9 according to the Mufflex website: http://www.mufflex-performance.com/2009_1.html
