Hello and welcome (back) to the forum, glad to have you! Man I gotta say that is one cool truck, nice intro and thanks for sharing the pics! I love the older models but whoever owned that sure put a lot of work into it and definitely built it up for how they intended to use it so look forward to seeing where you go with it so be sure to keep us posted! Stick around this time lol and I hope you continue to enjoy the site!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes, it's a very unique looking pickup... and I think that's what drew me in. I may have said this before, but even if I had 50k for a brand new one... the first thing I'd do is bring it home and start tearing it apart. I just love custom work. This guy really loved this truck and he put alot into... I'm not going to let his spirit die in the truck. I'm going to "clean up" some of his mods and make them look pretty, add a few mods of my own and then paint her one solid color. Probably going to get rid of alot of the trim stuff and give it a real clean solid color look like the newer trucks. I can't wait!

Cajundodge, don't worry mang, I'll keep you guys posted on everything I do. I actually help Mod the AMC Eagle Nest forums. You may have noticed one of my wagons in the background of the main picture. I have several build threads and "how to's" posted. You'll get all the same here on my Dodge.

Speaking of which, I do have a slight update... I gave up on tinting the windows. After $30 of wasted tint and a lot of furstration - I've decided to take it in for tinting, lol! I just don't have the steady hand or patience for it. I'd get a piece of film perfectly in place and trimmed... and then accidentaly knick it in the middle with the blade. Or I'd have a perfect cut and the wind would blow and tunnel through the garage and sling dust everywhere or worse - crease the film. Anyways, I don't normally just give up on stuff... but I was getting too frustrated with this and I know when to walk away before I start throwing wrenches - or in this case spray bottles and razor blades, lol! Hoping to get it in sometime this week.

Also, I started to remove the bumper and of course I couldn't get the damn thing off. I threw out my back trying. I removed 10 bolts and the spare tire from the front and even jumped up and down on the bumper... nothing. It simply won't budge. I have another 12 bolts to go and my back is fried from before so I'm going to take it into the shop for this job as well. It will be so much easier on a lift.

So I know, I know... truck - 2 and Mav - 0.... but the game has just begun. She's just testing me to see if I'll give up and throw in the towel. She's going to have to try a lot harder before I'll do that. If I just had a hand out here helping me, it wouldn't be a big deal - but good help is hard to find these days and daddy always said... if you want something done right, do it yourself... or have a fat wallet, LOL! Ok, so I added that last part and I don't have a fat wallet, but I simply can't finish the job myself. By the time I get done with the tint, I'll have wasted more film than it would have cost to have it professionally done and the bumper... well, that can't be helped. I'm 27 years old and I have four ruptured discs in my back that cannot be repaired, plus a crushed tail bone. I'm only an "bad day" away from being legally disabled. But until then, I'll keep "trucking" (pun intended) and pick and choose my battles.

So... that's what's going on... window tint and removing that dang bumper. OH! I also got ahold of the guy about the Grill guard. He's not a member here, he's a member of the Ram Charger forums and I found his email saved from awhile back. I have my grill guard on order right now and I'm going to have cousin chrome it for me! Woot!

See? Long updates and you didn't even learn that much from me today... wait till I start painting and upgrading this baby!
