Default Drop in Bed liner

Has any one had an issue with the drop in bed liners? I live in North Florida and the Sun just came back out this week. It warped the hell out of my liner.

The biggest issue I have heard is the water and moisture trapped under the drop-in's that causes rust to form on the scratches that the drop-in liners can make when they slide on the paint. You might want to think about going to a spray-on liner to eliminate this possibility. Also they won't warp.

Good luck!

Yeah... garbage. Get ride of it. I took mine out after a week and the bed was scratched. I have a Bedrug going in as soon as I get my Leer cap.

I definitely agree. A spray in(line-x is my favorite) will keep everything from sliding around like you greased the bottom. I think its around $500 for an over-the-rail job and no kevlar. Its what it cost me anyway but I have an 8 ft box. Yours might be a little cheaper, especially if you stay under the rail.

the worse thing about a drop in liner is that

no one else wants it either
you can't even hide it somewhere easily
it scratches your truck & causes rusting
leaves & other debris collects under & around it

the good things about drop in liners is

ummm
err
hold on a sec

Took it out this weekend and you all were right. It scratched up the bed and in two places the paint was ground down to the metal.

Yes spray in's will keep it from denting. They absorb blows much better then bare metal. I've thrown logs into my truck before and there are no dents.

I just bought my 2007 Ram 1500 and it came with a drop liner. Looks like it came with the truck new. If I read this right, I should just take it out and get rid of it? I want to put on a tonneau cover and was wondering how I would do this with the over the cap liner.
