Default Recommend some subs for me!

The factory bass isnt enough for me. I dont want anything crazy, just something to have fun with.

Im looking to spend around $400 for a under the seat box, 10" subs, and an amp, and the wiring. Could you guys recommend a set up for me? Thanks

You are kind of at a point where you need to spend a little bit more if you want longer lasting quality. I wouldn't expect to get much out of this setup if you are included the cost of the box AND install.........

New dual 10" under seat box: $100
JL Audio 10W0V2-4: $160
Rockford Fosgate P300-2: $150

TOTAL before wiring: $410

Now if you can do your own wiring then you will save yourself 75 bucks? If you want a professional install then I wouldn't even bother doing this until you get more money.....

Personally I am biased towards JL Audio as their low end items are just as good as most companies mid range items. Rockford is a good brand and make good products. You just can't go cheap with one or the other when it comes to amps or subwoofers as you will be disappointed!!!

I agree...JL Audio makes some nice subs and amps.

I also agree you won't get much more than what you already have (quality and sound) for $400 but give the MTX Thunderform stuff a look.

Focal has some really nice subs for decent prices.

But I'm thinking you want to up the budget a bit and step up in quality. You won't be disappointed.

Audio can range in price very widely depending on where you get it (if comparing exact same products). That being said, I might suggest a Fox box ($200 shipped), 2 10s (around $100 for cheap subs), and an amp big enough to power the subs (and wiring). You might have a tough time staying within your budget for a decent-quality setup. Be warned though, save your money and buy a decent box, the wood pre-fab boxes don't offer much for air space and can make a really good set of subs sound terrible. You might be able to match a pair of subs to one, but you're going to have a tough time.

There are so many options out there. I suggest you do some more research and get a better idea of what you are looking for. Go to some car audio shops, talk to someone there, and have them demo a few setups. You might consider going smaller, but higher quality, like a single/good-quality 10" sub and amp setup.

Ok, thanks guys! I was just hoping to spend around $400. I got about $500 that I could fork out all together. Anyone have a set-up similar to what I'm looking for around that price? And how much did you guys spend for a quality sub setup?

Could you please answer whether or not you will have a professional install or do it yourself?

Also, are you willing to go with a single 10" sub or is two a must?

I could go with one. But two is what I'm looking for.

Well a professional install will include labor and parts. I'd estimate 100$ for everything, but that's something you should check around with local audio dealers about. I'd check to see what they offer for a box as well to house the subwoofers.

Maddog is right too, MTX is a good brand that will be in your price range as well.

I'm going to disagree with FormerGorilla about his box suggestion. I wouldn't spend that much for a box, especially if you are putting low end subs in it. If you have high end subwoofers then yes, get a better box. Ultimately you will get better sound by going the route of a normal box as compared to cheaping out on your subwoofers. I think it's a waste of money that could be used to achieve what you are expecting. (No offense Gorilla <3)

I'll still stand by the setup I recommended. You can't cheap out on an amp or the sub in order to get a better quality sub or amp. The box is not as big of an issue as long as you buy it from a dealer.
