Default Black truck and scratches

Sun was shining on the truck today, and i noticed all the little scratches (not deep ones) on it. Has anyone used any of those 'scratch remover kits' like this one:

http://www.turtlewax.com/main.taf?p=2,1,4,33

Or any other ones you can recommend?

Thanks
G

I Polish mine with a orbital buffer and it get rid of them, Those small scratches are from car washes and that darn brush that is never cleaned.

I'll try anything - Any recommendations on a decent orbital buffer? And having never used one - are they user friendly?

I use 3m scratch remover, a great polish for clear coat finishes.

You don't have a black truck though.
Seeing as how my truck is scratch free for the moment I'm not worried about it. But, when the time comes I will most likely have a pro take care of it.

Isn't there a black box wax? like the one in the for sale section that gets rid of the scratches

I always hated detailing black trucks when I worked at dealerships, white vehicles were next to the worse

A proper cutting compound followed by a good polish does wonders. Then a few coats of wax and you're gonna be happy with the results. A full day polishing the truck will get you looks from the neighbors, but they don't get it anyways.

i've been doing some reading and the wax/polishing thing seems to be the answer. I have seen mention of a 'clay' wax. Is this something i should be checking out?

Clay is only used to take impurities out of the clear coat. Check out you tube for how to clay bar a truck. It's not a wax, it's a bar made of clay that allows all the imurities to be pulled out of the paint and stay in the clay. I clay bar my truck twice a year, once in the spring, and once towards the end of summer to get rid of all the construction grime.

I bought my truck with a bunch scratches from the old man who owned it. What I did was clay bar, compound, then put a few coats of wax on it. Looks 100% better. Only takes a few hours. that includes the time I took to do the interior and polish the wheels. Now it only takes an hour to get it looking good.
