Talking Newest Mod

Just finished installing a new Nav. unit in my Ram, Pioneer AVIC-X930bt. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...on/AVIC-X930BT . I have had this unit on order for about a month and I recieved it on Thursday. I usually go with Alpine, I have the Alpine INA-W900 Nav. unit in my Z, but decided on trying Pioneer this time around. First impressions I am very pleased with my choice, everything about this piece out performs my Alpine. The iPod interface is great, the bluetooth has worked flawlessly with my HTC (the Alpine won't transfer my phonebook) and the Nav. is on par with everyone I've used to date. One feature I like with this new Pioneer is the fact you can monitor the rear camera in a split screen while moving, great for keeping an eye on your tow. I also was able to use the factory Sat. antenna for my XM, a little mod. to the connector and it fit great. I did perform the hack so that you can access all features while in motion. If you are interested I can help anyone out that would like to have this on there new (2011) Pioneer, it is different from previous years.

I have the factory Alpine system, and with the PAC adapter and the new Pioneer it know sounds very good (for factory speakers and amp). I will be upgrading to some subs next, deciding on what to go with. I am either going big with 2 - JL 13TW5 with an HD1200, or a little smaller with 3 - JL 8W3 with an HD750.

Here is a picture of my new Pioneer with my custom splash screen.

Nice HU,clean installation. How do you change the connector for the Sirius antenna, I want to use my stock antenna also? I just installed a Pioneer AVH-P4300 last week and I will install the add on Sirius adapter in week or so.

Wish you were closer, I would consider something like that if I had help installing it. Not going to pay a stereo shop 4 - 6 hundred dollars to install. Prices are crazy here.

The factory Sat. Ant. is the tan connector. All I did was remove the red lock from the square connector and than the Ant. end would fit on the aftermarket tuner. I also added a little touch of hot glue to insure the connection would not come loose. Hope this helps out.

Try a different shop! Just for full disclosure, I own a stereo shop in Ruidoso, NM. My install rate, for the Nav., would be about $90 + harnesses. Rear camera install about $30.
