2002-2007 287ci (4.7L) PowerTech V8 235hp 295lb/ft

Check out www.airram.com they have a ton of 4.7L parts. HO cams are a big upgrade. Intake/Exhaust/Tuner are easiest. There are throttle body mods you can do, lots of stuff, just check out that site.

Yep, snrusnak is spot on. Another correct answer would be "not nearly enough"!!!! And sadly the best way to add power is to add that extra liter of engine. This has been discussed before and opinions vary but mine (as an owner of a first gen 4.7) is that with the amount of money it would take to add a noticeable amount of power to a first gen 4.7 you could probably trade up to a hemi. Of course I could see reasons why someone would want to keep the truck they already know and love. I'm in that boat...I just wish mine was a hemi. I have a K&N drop in, flowmaster, and superchips and aside from the modified trans tuning from the superchips (which i dont believe your truck would have because it's a few years older) my truck doesn't feel like it has any more power than stock.

airram is a great site and the guy who runs it it really nice I've spoke to him vastly on 4.7s over on a Dakota forum when I had my 4.7 Dakota now as far as power goes a Cai programmer and cat back will wake your 4.7 up greatly as far as I'm concerned the 4.7 is no where near the HEMI but reigns supreme over all other half tons small V8s fords 4.6 yotas 4.7 gms 5.3

I dont know about the 1st gen 4.7's, but I know that mine, with a Tuner, exhaust, and intake, has more power than I will probably EVER need.

DSP Unlocks quite a bit in the 09-10 4.7 from what I hear

Yeah, the 2nd gens are a different ballgame altogether. They have a good bit more HP than the 1st gens already and they seem to benefit from a tuner better than any other gas engine I have seen.

That is why I (Literally) just ordered a DSP.

When it gets to the truck, my wife can tune it and tell me how she likes it.

I've got a K&N CAI, AFe throttle body spacer and magnaflow cat back, and also have been looking at getting the JET chip and Superchips tuner. I've noticed a good change in torque and mileage out of the minor upgrades I have and I've been checking out a lot of the stuff that airram.com has too. From the sounds and looks of it though, there's only so much bolt on ugrades out there for the 4.7L's. Im personally trying to turn mine into a bit of a sleeper since its an SL 4X4 work truck lol. But good luck on finding stuff, and post anything you do find, cause I'd be interested in seeing and hearing the gains your getting.
