Default DiabloSport Trinity

Hey guys, I was curious to see if anyone on the forum has had any experience with the DiabloSport Trinity programmer and if they would recommend it. I just can't get over the nice features that it has with the digital gauges, etc. Also, does the trinity have a trans temp built in?

One last question. In your opinions, what is the biggest power gain from the basic 3, or rate them from 1-3 (Programmer> exhaust>CAI). Thanks guys.

Never played with the Trinity but have done some Predator installs.

I don't know if the Trinity has trans temp built in. If it's not listed on their website then it's a possibility it could be added but you'd also need a sensor and wiring. Not sure how you would interface this with the PCM.

I'd rate 1 - Programmer, 2 - Intake or Exhaust. Usually the intake feels like much more as the throttle response improves with a CAI installation.

Just understand that these three items are dependent on one another to maximize potential gains. More Air In + More Air Out = More HP and Torque; More Air In + More Air Out + Programmer = More HP and Torque plus as now you have a tool that will tweak your engine settings to take advantage of the Air In and Out.

So not one of these things on their own makes a huge difference.

Go to my "Ram Mods" link below my siggy pic and got to Page 2 for some real world results, before and after installation of the Predator, shown on the dyno sheets. Those gains are with a K&N drop in filter and an exhaust done. I have since added an AFE CAI and got the throttle response improvement plus a Butt Dyno measured gazillion HP & LB Ft Torque improvement.

The trinity is OK but i dont know how to data log and i have no idea what any of the readouts mean such as knock so the digital gauges are almost usless to me. The drag strip is pretty cool. I used to ride around with it in the truck but i stopped cuz its a minor pain to remove it to get updates and it rattles and moves around alot while driving. One of the digital gauges i did like was the MPH gauge cause it tells me how fast im going after i peg the the speedo out ive seen 145 mph on it. I would highly consider learning how to data log and specifically what the gains are to seeing the readout of the sensors is and how serious you are going to be about making your truck faster better stronger and if its worth 600+ dollars on a tuner. Its not any better than the Predator tuner wise it just has some 300+ dollars worth of addons in it. I mean lets face it you could spend that extra 300 buck on something else that actually makes your truck faster better stronger!

In order Programmer for number 1 exhaust for number 2 and cai for 3rd in regards to preference and performance. Cause if you get your programmer first the other 2 will compliment it and you may actually see added mpg's by adding the exhaust and cai later. And if you plan on getting a supercharger or a turbo down the road i would just get a K&N drop in filter for your stock intake to save you money. And if you are gonna get an STS kit then i wouldn't upgrade your exhaust either just to save you money. STS actually says that their kits work better with the stock manifolds so the only thing exhaust wise you might have to upgrade would be your cats to hi-flo cats. Because in the end all of your exhaust is going through a hole the size of your thumb.

But hey if all you plan on doing is the big three then i would say get the greatest quality product you can find.

Yeah, I kinda figured that they would tend to compliment each other. I'm just trying to decide what I should go with first. I plan on getting all three within the next few months. As well as attempting to justify the price of the Trinity too lol.
