Default Anyone have the Mufflex 18" muffler insalled?

Thinking about installing the Mufflex DOD18M muffler on my 2011 RAM R/T. Anyone have this installed on a 5.7 RAM....especially an R/T :-)

Was considering the 14" but don't want to be too lound. May also add headers in the summer/fall and think the ARH & Mufflex 18" might be a good combo.

Anyone?

Thanks!!!

I have the 18 inch on mine and it is a little too quiet for my liking. Maybe with some headers it will be a little louder but if I had to do it again I would go with the 14 inch or maybe even the muffler delete.

Thanks for the reply!

You don't happen to have a sound clip do you (or could get one)?

Do you have any interior drone? (I assume you kept your rear resonators).

I have an 18" Magnaflow welded in, not the mufflex kit. Check out my thread for pics and videos!

I don't have any clips, there are enough on youtube I didn't feel the need to make one, I have no drone unless I have cruise control on and climbing a hill, it doesn't downshift and drones a little.

I see you have some classic pontiacs, I just started tearing down my 67 to restore it

I completely agree and love the sound balance of the 18" with my Mopar CAI and the little extra power feel!!

To each his own on these things. I have been there done that with loud exhausts and I think it is an age thing or just down to personal tastes plane and simple I found I got tired of overwhelming sound and the constant drone at cruising speed when I was trying to have a conversation with a passenger. Striking that balance of nice rumble at cruise and aggressive bark at WOT that doesn't get annoying over time is sometimes tough to find.

OK thanks.

Sounds like a fun project with your 67! What model is it and condition?

i had a 18 inch magnaflow SI/DO for the past few months and it sounded great, sounded awesome when u got on it and barely heard it when cruising inside. I wanted it a little bit louder with the same tone so i just last week switched to a 14 inch and got exactly what i wanted. It has the same tone and is a little louder. with the 14, you can hear it inside a little bit but not nearly enough to dislike it or find it annoying. It also sounded great with the CAI i just put in

I have a 22" magnaflow and I'm trying to decide if I should find something quieter. I guess after countless trips towing through the mountains with the Hemi breathing heavily through it, it's starting to lose the 'muff' in muffler. LOL
