Default 10 Speaker Alpine System

Gee whiz does this system suck or what? Is there a gain control for the sub? Because I for one cannot tell that it is back there, and I've got the bass turned all the way up on the EQ. This is the most underwhelming 10 speaker system that I have heard in my entire life. What a disappointment!

I am sorry to be so negative but I was really looking forward to a kickass factory system when I bought this truck. The last 3 vehicles I have owned have all had really good factory systems and I didn't want want to sink a bunch of money into an after market system and increase my risk of a break-in.

On the bright side; the 430 RBZ is really cool and the sound is the only disappointment that I have with my new Ram after 2 weeks of ownership.

Well that's disapponting to hear. My new 2011 Sport is on order right now and I was looking forward to the sound system. I figured it would be fairly good, nothing special. I love the sound system in my vehicle now and don't want to take a step back! Ah well much I can do at this point but wait and see.

I test drove a Ram with that system and it rocked, so maybe there's a problem with the sub or amp. I'm picking up my new Ram today and can't wait!!!!!!

I was disappointed at first as well, but then I turned the treble down to half and the mid about 2 clicks above the lowest notch and it sounds much, much better. Hope that helps. I can actually tell there's a sub back there now.

I fiddled with my settings too. wish their was an actual equalizer. I think it sounds pretty good though. My wife has a hummer with GM's Monsoon system and the alpine sounds better. Playing through the hard drive on the 430n is the best with the i pod coming in second. The radio and the Syrius tone qualities suck. Would also be nice if there were tone memories per input picked. But overall, for a stock system and mid-level as the 430n is, Im pretty happy with it.

Outside of high priced luxury sedans, this is one of the best sounding stock systems I've heard.

This is how I have mine set too. If I could find the gain adjustment as well, I'd drop the bass setting down.

I've heard this system described as good and bad. I think it's the subjective nature of what each individual hears. I wouldn't roll over on that system until you hear it.

My stock system did suck, the Kicker upgrade sucked so other than the stock head unit, everything else is after market.

I am unimpressed also; I think the sub sounds fine but the center channel speaker seems a little bright and too much in your face. I wish that you could put a little more sound to the door speakers like the standard system.
