That button shuts off the dimming feature in the rear view as well as the side mirrors.

Oh Cool! I didn't know it dimmed the side mirrors too!! I new it dimmed the ones in the rear view though. Works great if you drive a lot at night!

ya it is a pretty nifty feature but mine kinda dont work cuz my back window is tinted too dark

I did not know about the side mirrors either, and I am in the same situation as patinuminjected, my rear windows are tinited too dark for the rearview dimmer to work. But then again, since their so dark, I don't need it to dim. I tried just turing the power to it off, but it always comes back on when I start the truck. Oh well, it hasn't seem to bother me too much.
