Default Trailer Brake Controller Up and Running

Ordered the parts separately and installed in under 15 minutes.

Had the computer flashed today...the EVIC shows the trailer brake and all is well !!!

For those adding this upgrade, so you know...the instructions call for a four digit pin from the parts department. The parts guy asked for the last 8 of my vin and gave me the 4 digits.....the flash was done in under 10 minutes.

Did you flash it or have the service department do it?

The part was the replacement part.

The flash has to be done at the dealer...their the only ones that can..they plug into your computer.

I tried but I was unable to get the dealership to flash mine after I installed my replacement part.
the dealer said he was scared to do it

I have the instruction, if your interested, PM me and I'll scan them tomorrow at work and e-mail them to you. It's way too much to type.

Flashing it has nothing to do with the function of the controller. The only thing the flash does is make it visible in the EVIC.

The Controler is 56029431-AH if they can't find it under that go with the same number but "AG" (the "AH" is the revised number)

The tan bezel is 1EB12DK2-AA.

And Latitud is correct...you don't have to have the computer flashed for it to work, it's only nice to "see" it in the EVIC as well.

If you have any fears, you can always order the kit, part number 82212548 but it's twice the cost.
