Default check gauges light, no oil pressure

So i start the truck light comes on check gauges, i look at the dash didnt realize no oil pressure so i drive about 50 yards then it hits me i pullover shut the truck off check the dip stick oil looks good. i start it back up oil pressure jumps right up to normal.... what should i look for or do before catastrophic failure.

Could be a clogged pickup or just a sending unit. Confirm the loss of pressure with a mechanical gauge and then go from there.

i also have a 03 ram with a 4.7. mine used to do that also. i took it to multiple dealerships they all said nothing was wrong. i drove it from my friends house in Louisiana to leesburg fl. and had catastrophic failure. it spun a main bearing on it and slung 2 rods. luckily i had extended warranty. the motor had 89k miles. a dealership replaced the motor $6k for mopar reman. they could not tell me the cause of it. i had just purchased it less than 2k miles. i think there was sludge in the motor but the dealership explained if there was warranty would not have covered it.
