Default lift question

I plan to fab my own lift blocks. does anyone know the ratio of inches to actual lift in the front end if adding spacer to struts? How high can i go this way before causing problems? was planning on going 3" front and 1.5" rear but wouldn't mind going higher. Any feedback is much appreciated!

I would not go over 3" for either the front or the back because it will start to get unstable and you will have the "shaky" feeling. I believe that if the blocks are made you should usually give .5-1 inch bigger than the size of the lift you are looking for. If you are trying to level it out also just measure the front fender to the tire and the same with the back and then your set. Please send me some pics of the blocks you are making on my page and what material are you planning on making the blocks of?

Hope that helps

Default top gun customz kit and actual measurement

i have a 2011 ram 4wd. i measured the top gun customz kit before i put mine on i ordered 2.5" and the actual spacer measured just under 1 3/4" i would not go any higher than that. i have slight vibration in 4wd now and would bet it would only get worse if it were higher. i wish i did. the rear is a 1 to 1 ratio . if i could ve found the right measurement i wouldve made mine too. do it yourself !!! you will be happier in the end. make an extra for a friend!!

I have to agree and say the 3" is too much. I would do a 2.25" up front and then a 1" in the rear. The front sits about 2" higher then the rear does, so that should get you pretty level. OR you could just measure it out and get it 100% accurate. Also if you go with the front lift at 2.5", once you throw the blocks on the rear it will lift the front up a bit as well, so you may be close to 2.5" up front. I actually think that may be pushing it still, in 4x4 you DEFINITELY will have vibrtions. If you dont want to have a truck that vibrates in 4x4 then I highly suggest getting a lift kit since they are made to make your ride comfortable when the truck is lifted, and make it WORK
