I found out yesterday that the Denali is a Sierra crew cab with the 6.2. Eventually this will happen, I'll let you guys know the results.

i know what the math says but youre not gonna get 1.3 sec because of 6300ft....1st problem is at sea level the humidity and heat will take alot of what you gain....

ive never seen anything truckwise from chevy/gm anywhere near 14.2's at the track the were close to being stock.....i know a guy who has an H/C/I 6.0 SS with gears that dont run 14.2.....just saying!
Umm, I have raced at this track for 15 years, along with tracks at sea-level or close to it and have shaved more than 1.3 seconds on occasion in the same car, etc. Also, that 6300 ft was some of the best air we have ever seen up there as it is usually around 8500-9K ft.. Come up here, you will lose 1-1.5 seconds if your N/A or supercharged. Turbo's will eat some of the elevation, but not all of it.

You should get him, unless you some how botch up the launch.. He is heavier at 5300+ lbs and he is pushing AWD which eats up some power. Let us know how it goes.

Don't forget to take out your floor mats before the run... lighten the load!
Keep us posted on the outcome. I'd say this is a 'drivers' run... best driver wins.

I've also run in Colo and here in Texas. I've only seen about a .5 to .75 difference. I wished I could have gained over a second at sea level. Maybe I'm not as good of driver down here in Tx.????????

That means I'm in trouble, every race I have ran with this truck I have won and it's all truck and not much driver!

Today was the first time I used the button on the shifter to manually go through the gears and I noticed that holding it in third a little longer helped a lot, it didn't have the dead spot it normally has when shifting from third to fourth....Thtas were I was worried about getting caught.

At which track in CO? Bandimere is tough as the static elevation is 6900 ft. If I run at Douglas, Wy which is at 4800 ft, we shave .3-.4 and gain 2-3 mph on average. Last time I ran close to sea-level was in Kansas City, with that car I was running 14.30's @ 98 up here, in KC I was averaging 12.90's - 13.1's @ 105 down there. DA at any track can make a huge difference on how your car will run. Use a Weather station or the on-line tools to track your runs and see what your DA is for the day as it can fluctuate by the hour.

The tracks I ran at are long gone by now--CDR(Castle Rock), Julesburg, Pueblo and the one out on Tower Road(east of Denver). Back then the only people using any weather measuring equiptment were the ones running Top Fuel. I have had dealings with Johnnie Bandimere before and IMHO I wouldn't go within a thousand miles of anything he owned or had a part of.

I dont have a Denali kill (yet), but only because I haven't seen one at the track.

Lots of racers use the DragTimes online DA calculator
if your track is listed, it has the weather data for every day, and right down to the hour.

link: http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

I'm at about 2250 ft. but the DA often runs 3500+
I run low 14's pretty consistently, best last season was a 14.328 @ 95.20

I'm hoping to get down to Mission B.C. soon (25 ft above sea level)
to get myself an "official" 13 second slip for my collection.

Here's a one of my time slips converted from 14.341@94.22 at 3539 ft. DA to 13.724@98.521 at sea level.
...this particular run I (#3680) beat down an SRT8 Grand Cherokee (#4224) He snoozed at the tree and couldn't catch me....so mostly driver

I had the Yellow SRT10 QC beat for over half the track too, he just barely caught me at the top end.
