Default Two Flash Updates at last Service

Had my truck serviced this week (first time in for service). I asked them to check for flash updates.

There were two. One for the Wireless Control Module and one for the Drive Train Control Module.

If you know what these flash updates did, can you elaborate?

If you have not asked to see if your flashes are up to date on your 2010, you might ask at your next service. Updates are covered under warranty.

Not sure what those all entail. Did you ask the dealer?

Yes, I asked the service personnel, but he was a newbie and didn't seem to know much...

I'd talk to the service manager. It's always good to know what they did besides just the general description.

WIN module update for intermittent remote keyless entry issues. Depends on your engine code/build date for PCM flash. Possibly for spark knock between 1500 and 2500 rpm when MDS is activated. That's all I could dig up.

Is this just a software update to the computer?

Is there anyway to research whether there are any "flash" updates/upgrades that would affect the radio head? Have been reading he owners manual for my radio and the screen displays don't come close to matching what's in the manual.

kdlp

PS: Hollywud - I think we have the same truck down to the color... are you Quad cab?

i wouldnt suggest needless flashing requests. a flash is covered by warrenty yes. but if you flash a module when there is no concern/complaint. you can end up creating a problem. especially with radios or handsfree modules. pcm update would of been for a bucking motion due to harsh mds engagement, driveability improvements and transmission shifting improvements.
