I think most people should know how to unscrew a bolt, unscrew a filter, and pour oil out of a jug, but hey, who am I to say it's easy

Thats the exact reason why if I do have to take it to a place like that I stand right where I can see the work going on, and I generally double check their work anyways.

The first oil change I did on the Ram was not an easy task, some @ss at the factory must have used an impact wrench to install my oil filter, and they didn't apply oil to the rubber seal.
It took me a half an hour to get the filter off, my filter wrench just collapsed the filter, so I tried a large screwdriver through the filter, but that just tore it apart, but finally after some busted knuckles and a few choice words I got the filter off...and the rubber seal wash adhered to the engine block, so the can was turning around the seal ugh!

And i made sure I installed the new filter with a little fresh oil on the seal, hand tightened and then finished with a 1/4 turn with the wrench

But yeah USUALLY any idiot should be able to change their oil
