Even if the cyclinder is getting fuel? The plug, when I removed it, was soaked in gas. It's just seems like it's not getting spark.

My mistake, I didn't fully read what you posted. But I did now and what I would do is get new wires, dis. cap and rotor. Could be just a bad wire.

No worries, I appreciate your help. I did just put new wires and plugs. That's why I thought it might be the cap. I will try a new rotor as well. Thanks again for your help. It's really nice to have this forum and all the knowledgeable people on it. Helps people like me, who have some idea, but just need confirmation. I'll let you know how it goes.

Considering all you have done so far, the distributor cap is the next most logical item on the list. I am curious though if #5 has good compression.....

I had a similar issue with the rough idle come to find out after countless hours and $$$$$$ fixing all the little issues I had low compression in cylinder #8. Found out my head was cracked between the valves in fact both heads were toast. so I'm in the process of making some major upgrades. Hey why not the engine is tore down and it's only money right. Here is a picture looks like a huge mess got late just tossed harnesses on top of engine.

Well luckily, I found my problem in cylinder # 5. I bought a new cap and rotor. When I removed the cap, I saw that the rotor was physically broken. The end with the metal tab was actually cocked to the left with the end of the plastic being broken. Compression is there and the truck runs great now. It actually has some acceleration of the line too. It's also amazing that I'm not burning as much fuel when running on all 8 cylinders, instead of 7. Thank you all for your help, advice and suggestions. Now if I only had a replacement dash to put in. lol
