I have seen other people from Canada on here that say the same thing, all tracking thru dealer. I ordered mine on the 26th of Mar. I'm considering chickening out and trying to switch it to deep water blue! Since that is one of the three colors still avalible and my second choice anyway. Can I even do that?? The wait is bad enough already. Not going to be fun finding out it's half built and now sitting waiting for paint, and when will there be paint??

Detroit the 1-800# is on the forum, search tracking order and it will give you instuctions in one of the posts. This site is awsome for info

I called the 800 number this morning and spoke with a woman that was quite helpful. All I had was the VON# but she was able to find my order and told me that it is scheduled to be built. She also have me my VIN#. I asked her about the problem with the paint and if I was going to have a problem with the Brilliant Black. She said there should be no problems with the orders that have already been placed. Yours was placed a few weeks after mine but if I understand her correctly yours should be okay. I suggest calling the number yourself and see what you can find out.

ramman27 sounds like your underway!! good news! i have called the 1-800-465-2001 and the dude on the other end told me there was nothing he could tell me i needed to talk to the dealership? I will wait a week and call again, maybe there isn't info yet. I called the dealer and they told me it was in C status-which should be sub firm but thats it!

Hope it works for you. There still might not be enough info yet you're right. But you might be able to piece a bit more together.

Hey Canuk more good news,

I'm able to track my order online now with the VIN. I found a link on a Jeep forum and you plug your VIN into it. It has a full breakdown. Shows exactly what I ordered, the vehicle status(mines in D1 scheduled for build), where its built, the ETA, and vehicle movement information. Which is a breakdown by date of where it is and whats being done on it. Im pretty stoked and will be checking this daily.

I'm at work right now and on my iphone and the links on my home computer. I'll post it on here tonight.

That is the link I found on the Jeep site. It has his VIN number in it. Check it out though as his has already been delivered and you can see the whole process it went through.

Now for us we have to take that link and replace his VIN# with ours.

That`s going to make things easier to follow for you! I have called the 1-800-992# and there was no info there at all!! The lady told me to check with the dealer to confirm the VON# was correct. I did and all he told me was the status hasn't changed still C, still not to sure of the VON?? I will definatly check the site you posted and follow mine as well-if they ever give me a VIN#. This is the first one I`ve ordered, usually it is easy. Drive up look at a few and I`ll take that one, and a few days later it`s in the garage. I think that this makes the wait and the process of it all seem worse than it really is!!Thanks for the info keep me posted

Merck To Restart Fukushima Automotive-Pigment Factory In June
TOKYO (Nikkei)--Merck KGaA aims to resume production of automotive paint pigments at its plant in Fukushima Prefecture as early as the beginning of June, the head of the German chemical giant said Monday.

As long as radiation from the nuclear plant is not a problem, Merck will seek a quick restart, executive board Chairman Karl-Ludwig Kley said in an interview in Tokyo with The Nikkei.

The plant, located in the coastal town of Onahama, Iwaki City, makes a key pigment for metallic coating that is widely used by the world's automakers. Merck is the leading supplier of the pigment.

Operations at the Onahama facility, the German group's largest production base in Asia, have been suspended since the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

APRIL 6th update

Merck's spokesman in Japan, David Pinsker, said workers returned to the factory on Monday to begin repair and construction work with the aim of restarting production in stages before a full recovery from June 1.
He said he could not give a specific start date, or how much of the pigment would be delivered to which customers first.
