Default Completly Fried Laptop

Well my laptop was completely fried and I lost all my pictures, programs, everything. I am a little pissed, but it's my fault I never backed it up. Anyway, I was wondering what laptops y'all would suggest. I am thinking about going with a HP, but I really haven't started looking around yet.

I've got a middle of the road Dell I custom built when I ordered it and it has worked ok for me but I don't think I'll by another one when it comes time to replace this one.

I've been thinking about building my own computer, but I like having a laptop.

I've built several desktops. You can't really build your own any cheaper these days but you can sure build them better.

Don't throw out the laptop the hard drive can still be accessed and you might be able to get everything moved to the new one. I've had several Toshiba's and others from work. The best one is the one you can afford. They all do about the same thing. My son got me into the Apple world and I use an iMac desktop, my iPad and a 17" Toshiba laptop. If you buy from Staples they will help you move stuff to the new machine from your fried one.

Good luck!

I've got a middle of the road Dell that I've been very happy with. I also bought my wife a newer, bigger, badder Dell at the beginning of the school year... she loves it.

That being said, if I were to go with a laptop now, I'd probably buy a "netbook" as they're cheaper and do pretty much everything that I would do on a regular laptop. I could always get a USB DVD drive if I needed one, and still be saving a few bucks.

I've always gotten good service from Toshiba Satellite laptops. My old Satellite is now my mp3 music repository. the new one is the wife's computer.

I have been using a Gateway laptop for almost 4 years and no problems.

I bought a appx 800 dell laptop last fall, I hate the battery life, but other then that its been a great efficient and portable computer. I would recommend getting a dell,hp,asus. And how did you manage to fry something so important. Did you have liquids near by?

I have my computer teacher trying to rebuild my hard drive, but it isn't looking so good.

I don't really know! My ethernet card was not working so I was going to put in a new one so I am guessing it happened when I was replacing it. I was wearing an anti-static wristband though.
