Hey all, this looks to be the best Ram forum site on the web that I've come across. I'm not actually a Ram owner just yet. I have a 1500 CC Sport that was supposed to roll off the factory line on 3/31. Dealer is going to check tomorrow to see what the status is.

Anyway, I'm torn about what to do and maybe I can get some honest feedback on this. I love the Ram but I've also been checking out the Toyota Tundra. I know, I know, how can I right? When this is a Dodge forum? Well, I wasn't even looking at the Tundra as an option until I decided to just check it out. They have a Platinum 4x2 available and it's loaded with pretty much everything you can imagine. It's actually close to what I've ordered on my Ram except the Ram doesn't have a DVD player in the headrest and the Ram is a 4x4. Price will be pretty close for both trucks so that's not a huge concern right now.

The 4x4 isn't much of a deal breaker for me either. I have a Toyota Tacoma right now that rarely gets used in 4x4. I was also thinking about lowering the truck just a bit and I'm not sure if you can do that to a 4x4.

What do you all think? And please don't turn this into a Toyota bashing thread. I'm looking for an honest opinion if you're willing to give it. I have never owned a Dodge before and like I said, I already own a Toyota and it's held up really well for being almost 10 years old now.

Has anyone owned a Tundra that traded it in for the Dodge? If so, why did you do it? If you could do it again, would you still buy a Dodge? What's the resale value on the Ram 10 years down the road?

Thanks for your feedback....I appreciate it!

Hello and welcome to the ForumZ. I have alway for the most part been partial to Chevy's but once I got my Ram I have never looked back. I look forward to driving it all the time. It has just more of everything in a truck that I want. Would have loved to have a 4x4 just to get the stance and climb a curb or two on occasion but my truck is just plain awesome as it is and I wish I had looked at the Dodge many years ago. I have driven a Tundra and it is a formitable vehicle but the durability and features of my Dodge made me happier and more comfortable. The decision is yours but I vote for the Dodge. Once again welcome.

A big HELLO and a warm Carolina Welcome! I had the same delima a couple of trucks ago, a friend worked at a Toyota dealer and I drove the new Tundra trying to determine what truck to buy. I went with the Ram and never looked back. My dad owns a 2001 Tundra and has just ordered new RAM because of the day I let him drive my new Ram. He likes the new interior and the power the Hemi has convinced him.

Me, I love the way it drives and it is the best looking truck hands down.

Welcome to the forum,
This forum is full of great looking trucks; packed with great mod ideas and there are loads of knowledgeable and experienced people here. That in itself is great reason to get the Ram. LOL

I have never owned a Tundra, but know many that do.....and did, and have driven many and have accompanied the owners many a time, so I have a bit of 'seat time' in the Tundra. Although a nice vehicle, I just never see the Tundra as a truck. Not sure what it is exactly, but the Tundra feels more like a Dakota or a Ford Ranger, which although looks like a truck, just seems to fall a bit short.
What I do know, is I always look forward to getting into my Ram, and so do the Tundra owners I know. Also, all but one of the Tundra owners I know are making plans to get a Ram when their contract or lease is up; the remaining one, is dealing on a Ford as we speak.
In the end, it's what ever makes 'YOU' happy. If one size fit all, we wouldn't have choice we have available, but just the fact there are numerous truck manufacturers, indicates that no particular brand is for everyone. I hope the Ram is the truck for you, and know that it will serve you well if this is the route you go.

Enjoy the Z!
