Default Scratches

I did it, I scratched my brand new black truck. I must have had some dirt in my wash mitt. Can you please recommend a fix. these are surface only on one door.

3M Scratch Remover or other high grade scratch polish on a soft clean cloth followed by a good wax.

I use the 3M Hand Glaze. It's what the body shops use. You can buy it at any body shop supply store. Great stuff but then follow with a coat of wax.

Its hard to recommend what to do without seeing the scratches. Most waxes / glazes only cover up scratches. Compounds have the ability to remove scratches but they should not be used by the inexperienced. Especially on a black truck. Take to to a body shop and get them to polish it for you. It won't cost much and they should be able to make it perfect.

That's ok to try on a 01 not on a 45,000 2011 truck. Take it to a shop and have them look at it. If you screw up the paint on your door it could easily cost you 6 to 700 to repair.

Yeah, definetly take it to a detailer and get it polished. Having a black truck you will be astonished at what it looks like after being professionally polished.

the reason i say do that is because i have over 10 years experience so its easier for me to do it to any vehicle and not mess it up but it is real easy to sand too hard and screw it up if your not comfortable with it by all means take it somewhere and have it done.
