Default Cloth to leather heated seats

Just wondering if the heated seats from a sport will go into a outdoorsman with out to much wiring in the dash? Has anyone done an upgrade to the heated seats from another Ram? I have seen a heated seat kit from the mopar catalog but no idea if it will be stock control buttons in dash? This looks like it will go under the cloth seat which would end up being cheaper.

As long as they are the same year cabs, yes they will fit.

The wiring harness in your truck may need to be modified to accept the plug in (it may already be there, you'll just have to look) and, as you know, you'll have to install switches (stock ones should be available or part of the MOPAR kit.

You may also need to have your PCM flashed for heated seats to be added to your equipment list so they will operate.

Since not replacing the seats with leather seats is the most expensive part of this upgrade you can do two things...

1. Just install the kit in the cloth seats. I'd check to see if this is safe with the dealer.

2. Get some leather seat covers and replace the cloth ones.

Good luck with the mod!

I would have liked to seen the heated cloth on the order sheet as an option, but not as of yet in the outdoorsman trim. I will check with the dealer for sure, I am wondering if the guts of the seat are different material to resist breakdown from the heating pad?? Your right the relpacing the whole seat is going to be really pricey covers in leather is a better idea. thanks for the help

Yeah...I am not sure if the fabric of the cloth seats will hold up to the heat or if they might smolder and eventually catch fire!

Just out of curiosity how come people aren't ordering the leather? That's the only option that I set my foot down on. They are so easy to clean when life happens. Plus the air conditioning that is in the new ones is really nice.

I don't think leather is not an option in the outdoorsman this year. A heavy leather seat would be good, no idea why there wouldn't be an option for this? Getting into warmed up seats after a cold day of fishing would be nice! With only a few color choices now, maybe next year we will see more options to draw people back.

Yah. I was a little disappointed that the only interior color option in the sport models was black. I liked the tan that I had in my previous laramie. I am starting to accept the black, but would have preferred the tan. Also I was a little disappointed with the texture of the leather in my new one. I am not sure if the softer leather is an upgraded option or if that is just the way it is now. Either way, it wasn't the end of the world and it's still a great truck.
