Default Can i do better on engine care?

i have always tried to take care of my vehicles to best of my ability, i.e. top synthetic oil changes every 3000 miles, i use Zmax engine and fuel treatment every 6000 miles, i routinely check things like pressures/lines/misc. for hints of trouble and so on, but my question is if there is much more a person can do to ensure the most longevity from a vehicle/motor? Obviously driving style comes into play with longevity, but aside from the driver aspect?

I heard to stay away from Z-max. I don't think it causes problems, but I have heard that its nothing more than overpriced mineral oil. I could be wrong on this though I have never personally used the stuff.

Changing oil every 3000 miles is a bit excessive, especially using full syn oil. Do a little research on joap samples for oils and you will see that syn oils such as mobil 1 can last for about 12000+ miles. I would never run that long but you are throwing away a lot of money on perfectly good oil. Just my 2 cents.
