Question HID 35W 6000k issue

I've searched all over on here and I've found some people having some similar problems but not like mine. I installed some 6000k HIDs and I have the flickering issue as well. But with the ignition off or in the on position with the truck not running the low's and high's work fine but as soon as I start the truck the lows will flicker about 2-3 times then go out but the Highs will work fine. If I turn the lights off for a few seconds then back on then the lows will work again IF the truck is not running. Can't figure it out. I read a thread about a 4700uf cap from radio shack but I'm curious if that would fix my issue.

Bought HID's from DDM tuning and had no problems at all in my GTO with their product.

TIA-
BrandonG

I bought HID's from DDM as well. I have a 2002 ram and I had to buy resistors to dummy out the computer so it think it sees the old lights. I was haveing the same problem as u. That should fix the problem

PARamRod...What resistor did you get and where did you get it at? Is it something that can be bought at a radio shack or purchased online?

I bought my caps from radio shack and they work fine. Without the caps they would not work if the truck was running. Do pay attention to the direction marked on the cap. The arrows will point to the ground wire. I'm also a member of a diesel forum and most of those guys recommend a 20w resistor for each 35w ballast to fool the truck into believing it is using 55w draw. If you are running 50w ballast just get a 10w resisitor. They also recommend if you have aftermarket projectors with a separate high beam to make a relay so that when you switch from low to high the lows stay on preventing them from having to warm up again and leaving you with a low light situation fo a few seconds.
