Default My experiance with the new truck

Thought I'd share what happened to me this past Friday. Headed up to town to get the windows tinted on my new Ram. Well it had other plans. Running about 50 on a 2 lane road, hit a bump, I hear a noise, pull over look to see the front driveshaft hanging. Yup that's right less than 1000 miles and the driveshaft came loose from th front diff. Think to myself ok the front shouldn't spin, I'll drive it to the dealer and have it fixed. About 300 yards I hit another small bump, sounds like the truck is coming apart. I pulled over call roadside to come get it. Guy shows up with a rollback, loads the truck. I ask want me to put in park? nope it'll be fine. Levels out the bed on the rollback my truck starts to roll into his bulkhead. I yell he grabs the lever to raise his bed back up and stop mine from hitting. Well the plate on the front did touch but no big deal. Get to the dealer, they check it out, 1 of the 4 bolts holding the flange to the diff was never installed, the other three never had locktite, probably never even torqued down. They pull a new truck from the lot to fix mine..... The driveshaft hit the tranny pan enough to make it leak a little, dinged up the front skid. So they replaced it all! Also checked everything for tightness. I was outta there in 1.5 hours. Sorry no pictures.... wasn't really expecting anything all that exciting.

The dealer will notify Chrysler via the warrenty repair. I strongly recomend you call the 800 number in your manual and report this also along with a complaint to the NTSB. This could create a recall if more incidences like your's are reported.

A recall? Seems more like human error to me.

Bigboyky...glad the dealer did the right thing for you

sorry to hear about the problems with the drive shaft

as to the tint that you were going to have done
i just read this week, on this forumZ, that the new Rams now have a different type of glass than in the past & because of this change, only certain kinds of TINTing can be used.
If you use certain kinds of tint material, you can have excessive heat build up, fogging, & other problems.
Hopefully someone will post it up again in here, so that you don't have any issues
