if u take out the rad and top rad mount its easier it only takes like ten minutes to do that i use a chisel to chisel the fan nut off with the belt on or get an air hammer with a long chisel bit. the vise works also but just becareful u dont bend the fan blades. a little pb blaster never hurts either. anything i do to the front of my truck i pull the rad and move the condenser carefully to the side its so easy to get in the truck. mines lifted so u just sit not wearing ur knees on a bumper

I did mine and I got my fan off while the pump is still attached to the motor. I went out and purchased the tool that looks like a pair of vice grips with a chain attached to them. I clamped the fan pulley with the tool described above and let the vice grip end rest against the harmonic balancer for leverage. That baby couldn't move an inch if it wanted to. Oh that was after I removed the belt, that belt isn't going to hold that pulley well enough to get that fan off, that SOB is on there.
