Default Diablo Installed

Got the Diablo in the mail today, went to plug it in and it needed an update, so got that done and installed the basic 87 tune with the perf transmission and I can def feel the difference, specially when it shifts. Not so sure if it added any get up and go but I gotta wait a few more miles put premium in it and run the 93 Oct tune. So glad I bought this, quick question though, even though I have the 87 tune in can I still go and do a quic adjust or does that mess the whole canned tune up? thanks!

Not owning one yet, I'm only speculating, if you change the settings you are modifying the original programing.

I have had one for a week or so.. If you go back in and select the same tune to install, it will give you and "Adjust Tune" button that allows you to make changes to that particular tune and then re-apply it. I am running the 93 Octane tune (With 93 octane gas) and went back in and disabled MDS..

I did not lose any MPG by disabling MDS, and can definitely feel a difference between the 87 and 93 tunes.

I'm planning on taking the truck to the dyno in a week or two, and run it 3 times: Stock tune, 87 octane tune and 93 octane tune (All with MDS off)

Will post results in a diff thread once I get it done so we can all see how the truck reacts to diff tunes..

nice!! Im sure everyone will like to see those results. My truck doesnt have MDS so Im good, and Ive only driven mine a short distance since the install, but like I said I did that perf trans option and the shifts are amazing under WOT. Cant wait till payday put in some premium and blow the carbon out the exhaust on the freeway

You won't feel a huge improvement with the 87 tune. Installing a higher octane tune will result in a noticeable improvement, JackDaniel.

A couple of things to remember...

1. Don't run a higher octane tune with a lower octane fuel.

2. Once you've installed the higher octane tune, then you can modify the tune to your specific needs.

3. If you want to modify the 87 tune now that it's loaded you can go right ahead. There's some info in the Knowledge Base on how to do this.

Glad you like it so far!

Userj8670, the Predator with the power supply & cables runs about $280 to $320. Be careful of buying a used one...several folks here have done so and found that the one they got was VIN locked to another vehicle and it cost them more money to have it sent to DiabloSport to have it unlocked and reset.

Glad you didn't get hung up with a programmer that was still VIN locked!

Good luck with the higher octane tune. Let us know how it goes and what your impressions are!

ps: how are things at Fort Useless?

Fort Useless is just gettin ridiculous, Im in 20 school right now for my MOS as an 88L, and soon as Im done with that I got orders for Hawaii so I cant fricken wait. But the AF is taking over everything, and the class 6 closes at midnight now...just little things that you had gotten used to changed.
