Default Water leak... whats next

I just had my first manufacturer defect happen to me last week when I was washing the truck and paint pealed right off the front bumper. Dealer/Chrysler are giving me the run around on that saying that the warranty will not cover it, and now this happens.

Ill sum up the video, I went to mess with my amp a little and noticed that there was moisture on my amp... so I got some paper towels and soaked it up, then went to investigate on where the moisture came from. Turns out all of my bench seat is wet.. bottom/back mostly but enough to leak onto my amp. There was a pretty strong storm the night before but its obvious that I have a pretty major leak somewhere.. Going to take it to the dealership soon and have them do a "water test" on it, which im guessing is them taking a water hose to it.

Cant wait to see how this turns out, Im starting to have second thoughts on my ram. only had it 4 months and im about to open my 2nd warranty claim on it.

I understand your frustrations, I think there are numerous posts about leaks at the third brake light. Hate to send you back to he dealer, but that's where I'd go.

Sorry for your trouble,
You should look at the sliding window,
The first ram I test drove was on a rainy day and when we took off in the truck, rain water poured from the rear slider
needless to say I did not buy that one
might be a good place to start

Yeah thats probably the cause of it. The third brake light is notorious for water leaking. That foam gasket can get old, cracked or just not sealed right and it will leak. I've had that problem on my 2nd and 3rd gen, hopefully never on my 4th!

There was a post on here about replacing the gasket around the 3rd brake light. Something to do with there is a right and a wrong way to do it. Might do a search and see. If I have some time, I will see if I can find it.

see what had happened was.....when you washed the truck the other day....there was SO MUCH PRESSURE on the hose that it took the paint off as we all saw....that in turn forced water through the bumper and along the frame, then up through the floor thus soaking your rear seat.....sheesh can't believe you guys haven't figured this one out yet!

lol

sorry to hear about all the issues....guess theres always that 1 truck that they thought they put in the back corner and it slipped through

I did a water leak test myself today and as you guys have suspected.. it was the 3rd brake light.. I took it off and saw that the foam gasket was in pretty bad shape. I'm attempting to fix it myself with some 3M weather stripping and adhesive.. Ill let you know how it goes.
