Default Help!

Hey everyone,

When I'm coming to a stop my truck is slam into first gear, and making the truck jump... It doesnt happen every time, but its happening more and more. I dont know what this is from. I have plenty of tranny fluid. Any ideas???? The week after next im going to be towing a 7,000lb boat about 8 hours back home. I dont want to have any trouble coming home....

thanks for the input.

Does this happen at any speed when coming to a stop? (whenever the truck downshifts?) Or is this only happening when the truck is at lower speeds?

When was the last time you serviced your transmission? How many miles on the trans since the last service?

Its happening at all speeds. my truck only has 37,000 on it. I bought it used with 19,000 miles and I'm guess that its never been serviced.

Before you get all caught up in trying to diagnose a potential electrical control or mechanical problem, get it serviced. Schedule B service interval for auto trans fluid change is 60K miles but that assumes driving conditions that may not apply to you.

Sometimes a fluid change is all you need to get things right again.
