Default Had some exhaust work done today

I had the Y-pipe and muffler replaced with magnaflow parts today.
Re-routed drivers side pipe from cat to go above crossmember and back
further after trans and then crossing over to the Y instead of the stock
location which cooks the tranny fluid. The factory Y is really constricted
as you can see in the first pic.

Oh man and I thought I was the only person who noticed those flow restrictions. Great job! Since you did it first, I'll be "copying" your mod here shortly

I don't mean to thread jack, but I think what you did is essential to power gains on our Rams. For anyone else that is interested in doing this, here are some shots of the stock setup so you can see where the terrible curves and bends are restricting flow.

How come you did not just use a dual inlet muffler? Wouldn't that be even less restrictive?

I plan on doing new exhaust this summer. Which magnaflow muffler did you go with?

I went with the 24" one. Perfect for me, the older I get the quieter
my vehicles are. It is definitely louder than stock with a nice low rumble that sounds great accelerating and is quiet at freeway cruising. Most guys seem to be running 18 or 14. They charged me $250 for the labor, got the muffler on ebay for $110 and the Y for $25. Yes you can make true duals
or put headers , etc just depends on how much you want to spend.
