Default Decided to go faster

I have a 2006 model and purchased a jet performance chip and Jba headers and will be installing them this weekend, I have been looking at cold air intakes and will get that after but what should I do with the exhaust for the best performance and just barely be legal, maybe a little louder. I dont want to sound dumb to the muffler shop when I have them make me something but could i get away with dumping the exhaust and just not even having a cat? I was thinking if i could find a good muffler it might not be too loud? any advice is more than i know

thanks,
keaton

You could run no cat and dump it, but if you have to get your truck emmisions every year then you cant do that, because you wont pass smog.

I'd be interested to know how the JET chip works out for you, as that's something I've been thinking about doing to my truck.

hey keaten,
i would recomend just removing your mufflers and replacing them with a piece of exaust pipe. this way you will leave your cats on (keeping you legal) and you will get a very aggressive and loud sound. not only is this the cheapest way to go, but the only way to go now is quieter. so if too loud for your taste, now you can start looking into mufflers. i recomend magnaflow not too loud and not too quiet but one hell of a growl if i may say so

hope this helps
J1M
