Default Need help. Rubbed my clearcoat off!

Well I backed into a wall like an idiot yesterday not paying attention to the camera. No dents or scratches just some nice paint scuffs on the rear bumper. Today I decided to take a small piece of brillo pad to it and the paint came off but so did the darn clear! Is there anyway to fix this or at least make it somewhat back to normal?

You can try buffing with polishing compound, but it might be easier to just have the clear resprayed.

Ok so I just gave it the first go around with rubbing compound, polishing compound, then wax and it looks a lot better. Still has the marks but I think the more I compound it the better it will get. I will snap a pic soon.

Looks better. Watch the rubbing compound as it will go right through the color coat.

3m finesse it 2 will take out very fine scratches of 1500grit or lighter. Use a polish not wax next. Use a buffer machine with both and keep it 'wet'. Then hand wax to finish it off

I went very light on the rubbing compound and used elbow grease. Thinking back I should have used the rubbing compound to remove the paint and I would not be dealing with this issue.

Yep, brillo pads are for the kitchen not for trucks. Glad it's looking better for you. Make sure you put on a good coat of wax or sealant.
