For me, the stock seats of my 07 feel really good. I have the split bench in front. I have driven 12+ hours straight through with no problems.

I have had rigs that the seats weren't that comfy on long trips. I went down to the local upholstery shop and had some different and firmer foam put in with a little bit of lumbar support, different seat bottom foam and side bolsters to solve that problem.

I think it is just where the padding is all squashed. The passenger seat isn't as squashed and it seemed fine when I rode in it (the one time I let my wife drive my truck, lol). It feels like I have no support on my left side and I'm having to keep constant pressure on my left foot and I think that's what's causing my back to hurt.

I want to do something but I don't know what. A replacement seat bottom cushion is $100!! But then again I don't know about taking it to some upholstery shop and having them stuff something in there that doesn't belong.

My seat is freaking comfortable. My dad likes my cloth seats over his leather seats in his 06. But, I'm starting to wear down the left side a little from not having running boards.

See this. Makes a helluva difference, plus you can wash your upholstery, get all the spilled stuff and fart smells out of it.

My seat is the same way, but I don't have any back issues even on long trips. Mabye see a chiropractor to see if you pulled something.

HemiLonestar...I can't get that link to work. But I did search and found a couple of how-to threads on repairing it yourself with foam and burlap. Was that what you were trying to link to? I like the looks of that. Think I'll give it a try soon as I can find time. Also saw in there that apparently there are no hog rings on these seats so it seems very easy to take the seat cover off.

trailblazin...I also read in those posts on fixing the seats that several other people have had back pain due to this so I feel pretty safe that it's the seat and not my back.

I agree. the 1/2 ton seats suck. I added foam to the rear portion of the seat bottom and it made a HUGE difference. Also my "outside" lumbar on the seat bottom was cut about 1/2 way thru due to poor design of the seat frame. I tried not to slide in and out of the seat. Always stand up, but it didn't matter. I also added some foam on the lumbar supports on the bottom. feels like it corners like a Bugatti Veyron now.(well in my sleep anyway)

My seats cushion is really messed up on the left side. The only time it really bothered me is when I first got the truck before I got my seat exactly where I like it.
