Thumbs up Cheap CAI idea.. What do you think?

There's no way in hell I'm going to drop 300 bucks on a bit of tubing.. I was roaming ebay and found this sucker...
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BCP-RED-94-02...vxp=mtr&_uhb=1
I've never heard of BCP before.. It looks good enough.. the price looks even better. I know better than to use a cheap filter, I'm thinking I buy this intake and get a replacement K&N cone filter. I'd be saving around $200.. What do you guys think?

That looks exactly like my Spectre Performance intake. And obviously Spectre Performance isn't the best but I actually noticed my filter was dirty as hell and was thinking about looking into seeing if a K&N would fit it. In which case I might do that exact same thing!

The weak link is the aluminum tube. That baby is gonna run diagonal across your block and I predict it will get hot enough to sizzle your finger on contact. You could modify it with header wrap or such…... but as it sits it looks like a HAI.
I think you're better off with a K&N drop in filter.

It actually goes straight to the left after the throttle body on the 5.2s but you're right, aluminium would attract a lot of heat.. Didn't think about that. However I read somewhere mathematically the air doesn't spend enough time in the tube to heat up.

Well… I'm a firm believer that math is always right! And for that price.. It just might be a good bet. Be sure to take pictures and post up a review if you get it. Love it or hate it.
Good luck!

Just googled the spectre.. Man.. Who ripped off who?? I'm fairly close to the border and know of a place on the other side in Minnesota that you can have things shipped to. Just need to go across and pick it up. Groceries and whatnot are damn cheap on your side, maybe I'll do it and take a trip. Do you currently use a Spectre intake?

Nice man.. Did you go with the 50mm throttle body?
