I use chrome cleaner and a soft cloth on my bumpers and tips and windex and a soft cloth on my Chrome Clad wheels. A good wax to follow up to keep them clean.

they are plastic, so yours probably did not get a good original chrome plating job.... You might try a warranty fix, or order new chrome parts for yours from the dealer, or even order chrome covers which are avalible elsewhere....Don't believe you can fix them with any polishes, as it sounds like your begining to see some of the under coatings used when chrome plating..... if you can remove the chrome plastic pieces, you could also send them to a plastic chrome plater for replating...but would probably cost more than just replacing the parts

there is nothing better for cleaning chrome than distilled white vinegar.
the best part is it costs 99 cents.

If that doesn't do it then you probably have a problem that cant be "cleaned".

if they use magnesium chloride to de-ice your streets then you just have to clean it with a quality cleaner. It's not a symptom of poor chrome, just the magnesium chloride will find the pits in the chrome and then cause oxidation there. Mine looked like crap when I had chrome but now I have a Sport and very, very little chrome (for that very reason).
