Default cut outs question

Right now i'm chomping at the bit for an exhaust, but not wanting to pony out the dough right now for the magnaflow's i've been eyeing. My wife says shes going to get me an exhaust for fathers day or my birthday (best wife ever) but i'm wondering what are the advantages of a cut out? A local speed shop has an electric one (DM i think) for around 150 bucks....

any input would be awesome!
THANKS!

If you're looking for electric cutouts, then you want either QTP or the DMH; the DMH open faster. Several of our members run them with zero issues, just be aware that with them open, you'll kill your low end, but do wonders with your top end, so they should only be used when stopped for that 'loud exhaust' or at speed when you want as little restriction as possible.
