Holy transformation batman! That thing was looking rough. Did the body work set you back 5 digits, or were you still in the 4's? I dont wanna ask how much the whole endevour cost you, but it had to be as much/more than the truck is worth.

Good on you for the commitment though. Maybe I missed it but how many miles are on it?

Wow, your truck looks great, brand new! I hate to ask how much that cost too, but sure was worth it!

Thanks for the comments guys. It has been a long project and it isn't quite done yet, but close. I have no problem throwing out the figures. Here's how it's went so far...

I bought the truck for $3000.
I have $450 in the rims, with good tires.
Another $600 or less in K&N CIA, Exhaust, Leaf Spring, and misc other stuff.
My body shop bill came to $4860. (That was with a new (used) bed with a LineX liner already in it (so not perfect, but close) a new front passenger side fender, and new top o the line bumpers, front and rear. And a few other parts. Keep in mind my father-in-law traded out the paint work.)

The truck has 111K on the clock. Now, I could've found a truck like this around here (Northern IL) with a shit ton of miles on it, and rust starting around the wheel wells and cab corners for 8-10K. I have around 9K in this truck and it looks absolutely brand new, with a gaurantee on the paint and a gaurantee that the bumpers won't pit for however long (I forget.)

The best part about it is, I was able to pay for the whole project as I went along, aside from a coupla thou, that I put on a 0% interest credit card, which I can pay off before the percentage kicks in.

I'm really happy. I feel like I'm crusing in a 50K truck, but essentially I don't have any payments on it. : ) Fixer-upper mentality I guess.

Well hey! thats awesome man! Looks like you thought it through! Is there any part of the truck that was not repainted? is it a salvage title?

Nope, regular title in my name. I took a gamble because I had no idea if the frame was going to be straight or not. The body shop called and said she was straight as could be, so I lucked out. Like I said, the front fender was also replaced. The PO had tried some shade tree bondo work, and aparently there was a LOT of bondo in the fender when he sold it to me. I saw it before it went to paint, and the only bondo in it were from the door dings over the years and things like that. I'll take some better pictures today or tomorrow. I was missing a piece of the door trim, so they ordered it for me, and I'm taking it back right now to have them put it on, and also look at my AC. Apparently it's clogged somewhere in the system, so they drained it (too high of pressure) before I took delivery of it last weekend. Was a HOT weekend, but I had to drive it. haha.
