Default Can coolant in spark well hole result from plenum gasket?

Hello! The truck: 99 4wd 5.9 Sport.

Had a wonderful spark knock start up around 6 months ago, and things are progressively getting worse. My friend is a mechanic, he pulled the plugs and says he saw coolant in the 8th spark plug well, but the compression test checked out just fine. Which confuses me - can a bad plenum gasket cause this? Possible at all. The truck overheated about a year ago due to a bad radiator. I changed it out and all was well for about 3 months and then the spark knowck started, so it may be worse.

Is it possible for me to have blown the head gasket and still get a good compression check? Where would you guys go from here? Dye test?

Thanks for your input!
Also, if you live in the Wilmington, NC area or know anyone who does that wants to make the cash and lead the charge on getting my truck fixed by all means let me know. My mechanic friend has no time and I would rather give my money to someone who can use it rather than the stealership.

-Mike

No chance that can happen. And yes, you can still pass compression tests.

the plenum gasket only seals the valley from the inside of the intake you might have a cracked head or blown head gasket from the overheating. i would tear it down take the heads off and get them magnafluxed. and start everything fresh.
