Default '89 Ram 250 won't start

I'm trying to get my 89 Ram 250 to run, it cranks but won't start, no juice
to plugs or coil. I
think it's a 318 engine, pic attached. I located a '60 way switch' (noted in the Chilton) near the
battery and headlight, I have only Haynes and Chilton manuals. Is it worth
it to buy the manual, the cheapest price is $70.

Similar problem on my 1991 D250. Battery, plugs, wires, distributor, pick-up coil, voltage coil all looked good, but little or no spark. Turned out to be the SBEC / engine computer. There were no fault codes on the readout. Replaced it with a remanufactured ($180) one and the starting problem was solved.

Typically, one way to tell is if there are no trouble codes. "Dead computers have no memories." Even if everything is fine, you'll at least get code 55, which means "end of line (report)". If you don't even get that, it's toast. Plus, if
it's already had a replacement computer (they're all remans) it won't last as long as the OEM. My '90 is on computer #3 as far as I know, but maybe more. By the time I got it, it was already 17 years old. The last one I replaced just a few months ago started running erratically....the timing was bouncing around. It steadily got worse. New computer straightened that right out. Had codes, but it was still fading on me. There are FSM's on CD for less than $70. I got an original book years ago, and yes, it's worth it. Granted, you actually have to read the thing, but the info is there. The Haynes manual is a basic thing, has uses, but you'll see many things in one where it says, a thing is too complicated and you should seek professional help. The FSM is what the pros use.
