Default Rear springs on 2011 1500 Sport

Mulling over levelling my truck. I have looked at a couple of options. I was at my local spring shop today, because I was told by a fellow Ram owner that he had his levelled there. I went to see the owner and he looked at the truck. He said he would put a 2 1/2" spacer on the front, and replace the stock spring on the rear, using a progressive type spring. I put progressives on my Goldwing, and like the way it improved the ride. He said that the stock spring was really just a car spring!!!! He said that when I hooked up my 16' landscape trailer with my 3000 lb tractor on the back that the truck would be really low on the rear.
Anyone hear about this? Any troubles with the rear springs not being up to snuff?
Thanks, Dave

I've been watching things here for a few months and haven't seen any reported problems. Sounds like a good sales pitch. Progressive springs do help take on a heavier load.

Use the link in my SIG to join the Red RAM group. Like to see some photos of your truck there.

I've heard some talk of going to a heavier spring but it doesn't seem to be a really common thing people are doing. Most people that tow loads are using air bags that fit in the springs. I believe the current mopar kit changes out the rear for a heavier spring. I'd check into what they do and possibly follow along those lines if you don't want to use a spacer on top of the current spring.
