Default A/T tire recommendations

hi guys, been enjoying my 2007 1500.00 Laramie 5.7 L., 4x4 quad cab but am now in a financial position to purchase a set of 'hunting/fishing/camping' tires.
I bought a set of 17" rims to use in place of the stock chrome 20" with Cooper Discoverers mounted.
Primarily, the Dodge is my D.D. on highway 80%, mild off road i.e. graded gravel, forestry and logging roads in the interior of British Columbia, Canada.
In the fall, it could be sunny and then change overnight. A couple of years ago, a buddy and I went to one of our hunting areas, set up camp, all nice and dry. woke up to about three inches of snow covering everything and heavy snow falling. This past year, we were in t-shirts hunting about a month later into the season.
So anything possible, I'm thinking, for treadwear life, an all terrain tire (which has been siped) would be better than a 'snow' tire, and likely perform better on dry pavement, gravel etc.

Soooo, guys, after looking at Tirerack and 1010.com sites 'til my eyes crossed, I'm looking for real life input about specific brands/models you've actually used with your Dodges (or similar vehicles, user reviews about tires and suzukis ain't helping me)!! Price is a secondary factor for me in deciding.
I'm looking forward to some real world, and directly useful info as only you guys can provide!

all the best

TB

Your driving description sounds just like what I do. I went with Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs and could not be happier. I posted about them here

hey Kilkenny, thanks for the input, will definitely look closer at those.\

I thought Wranglers had a bad reputation for wearing out fast, great traction, but at the cost of soft rubber that wore out on pavement?

maybe a lie, maybe bad maintenance, or old style stuff.

any other suggestions guys?

happy Easter to all !!!!

I haven't heard that about Duratracs. The Duratracs are a relatively new line. They're pretty tough.

You might be thinking of the Wrangler AT. A friend of mine had them on his Jeep and they wore out pretty fast.

Likely it was the wrangler a/t then that started the 'stories'.

Look at the Cooper Zeon LTZ's and Toyo Open Country A/T's or M/T's.

I would have to suggest the BFG A/T KOs or the KM2 tires. Both of them are great on the road and have a great tread pattern. They both are comfortble and quiet on the road which makes them a great choice. I have both of these tires and I love them both

I friend of mine has the Mickey Thompson ATZs and they have been wearing pretty good. I don't know how good they do off road though.
